I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, you overthink and are constantly reminded of the past, you are in the right place.

A Path 2 Healing was created especially for those who have suffered from trauma and are looking to find peace, take back control of their lives, and live a life free of anxiety.

Bottom line, heal!

Together, we’ll work on your unique goals, to master boundaries, increase self-care, and develop coping skills to release overwhelming emotions.

My lived experience as a trauma survivor with anxiety, allows me to provide support to you in a unique way - because I understand the real struggle of healing, as I’ve experienced the life changing transformation and positive impacts from therapy.

How I Show Up

I show up to sessions as myself, and my hope is that you’ll feel like you can do the same. You won’t see me in a blazer, nodding with a straight face, but I do take notes!!

My favorite work attire is comfort in jeans and a casual shirt. I’m not perfect, and I don’t pretend to be. When you work with me, you’re getting an actual human in-person or on the other side of the screen.

I don’t have a poker face, and I call it like I see it (in a gentle way and often with a healthy dose of humor). I believe therapy is a place where you can laugh, cry, be mad - you name it.

In therapy with me, you’ll get to explore your triggers, your strengths, and all the stuff that makes you, well…YOU. And you’ll get to do this in a judgment-free zone with someone who totally gets it.

WHAT OUR WORK WILL LOOK LIKE

First things first - it’s my job to earn your trust. I don’t expect you to share all the tough stuff right away. You always get to call the shots about what we focus on.

Showing up for that first intake appointment can feel terrifying, and I don’t take that lightly!  One of the most important things for me to do in our first appointment is to help you feel at ease, to answer your questions and to provide you with reassurance and hope.

We’ll go at your pace, and you’ll be the one in the driver’s seat. I’m here to provide support and guidance, but when it comes down to it, you’re the client.

WHAT MY THERAPY STYLE LOOKS LIKE

All of the approaches we’ll use in your sessions are evidence-based and are proven to be effective in bringing relief to folks struggling with anxiety and trauma.

A big part of my therapy style is helping you understand how your brain works a bit better. Once you get a handle on how your body and brain respond to stress and trauma, you’ll see that your struggles aren’t flaws — they're pretty much how any of us would react to tough stuff.

For instance, have you ever caught yourself saying things like “Why can’t I remember parts of my past? Why can’t I stop overthinking?” or “I am not good enough.” Or what about, “Why can’t I just let this go?”

Therapy helps you go from thinking, “What is wrong with me? Why can’t I handle this?” to “Oh, This is just my brain trying to protect me. I got this.” Therapy can also help your body go from feeling tense and wanting to run, to feeling relaxed and calm.

Each time we have a session, I’ll check in with you to find out what your priority is for our time together that day. Some sessions may focus mostly on talking things through, while other sessions might focus on processing trauma or practicing coping strategies to help
soothe your mind and body.

You deserve to have a calm, relaxing, and welcoming space with someone you can talk to without a filter, and you deserve a place where you don’t have to have it all together.

MY STORY

You could say I’m a bit of a firecracker - I speak my mind, and I stand my ground, but I wasn’t always like this. I was a shy and sensitive kid who felt like I never could fit in.

I spent a big chunk of my life as a people pleaser who had no idea how to stand up for myself. I survived some pretty terrible things, and I can remember truly believing that I’d be haunted by those memories forever.

All of that changed about 15 years ago when I started working with a therapist who helped me find my voice. She helped me see my worth, taught me ways to cope with debilitating panic, anxiety and flashbacks, and I experienced what it was like to bid farewell to the nightmares of the past and learn to truly love myself and to thrive in this world.

Therapy was one of the best things that ever happened to me and that’s why
I consider my role as a therapist to be one of the greatest honors I could ever have - I get to help people just like you learn ways to cope with anxiety and unravel the past in order to create a fresh start and finally feel peace.
